Is a logo important?
I had a client ask me that question once. My response was, “Do you want your business to be successful?” and he replied, “Of course!” I went on to explain why a company’s logo is so important to it’s success. When we finished our conversation he told me that he had never thought of a logo as vital to a business, but now had changed his mind.
Logos speak volumes of the entity they represent. If you think about a particular company what comes to mind? The logo.
SEO Pitfalls and Other Common Mistakes
This is going to be short. I promise. I don't consider myself an authority on SEO. I'll leave that to Matt Cutts, Aaron Wall, and the others. The point of my post today is to alert people of the pitfalls of do-it-yourself SEO. It can be done, but it's almost always more beneficial to have a professional do the work. I'll just list these out very simply for you to gander at:
- Content - Content problems fall into pretty much two categories: 1) Duplicate or boiler-plate content, something that came ready-made in that frankensteined template you call a website. 2) No content is almost as bad.
Lose a bid?
These days there seems to be a gaping chasm between reality and desire when it comes to web design. I have found that more and more people are expecting premium custom design and programming at economy prices. Well, that just doesn’t happen, but there are many reasons why potential clients think it may be possible:
First, your brother’s friend really does do web design, but he’s only been doing it for a few months. Being undercut by the client’s brother’s friend is all too common. And what people fail to realize is that effective design requires a commensurate level of pay.
At Last
After an excruciatingly long wait we finally completed our redesign! Now our clients and potential customers now have a place to go. No more of the, "Oh, uh...We’re in the middle of re-designing our site. So, uh..." Yeah, it’s very annoying, but at the same time there’s a reason we couldn’t finish our site sooner. Correct, we’re staying busy. More so, because of the referral work that we’ve been getting in. Gawk if you need to, marvel, criticize, poke fun, or admire. To us it doesn't matter, our site is finished and we can now move on. Hallelujah!
