Elections

Well, for good or bad the elections are finally over. Hopefully the markets will stabilize and people can get back to work and make things happen. We have spent the better part of two years looking for a replacement for President Bush and not enough time on ourselves. With the exception of a few people we have been wasting time. It will be nice to finally put all the politics aside and get back to work.

We are really hoping that the economy will settle and regulate itself now that we have a president elected. Whether you agree with him or not, he is the president and will be for at least four years.

Is a logo important?

I had a client ask me that question once. My response was, “Do you want your business to be successful?” and he replied, “Of course!” I went on to explain why a company’s logo is so important to it’s success. When we finished our conversation he told me that he had never thought of a logo as vital to a business, but now had changed his mind.

Logos speak volumes of the entity they represent. If you think about a particular company what comes to mind? The logo.

SEO Pitfalls and Other Common Mistakes

This is going to be short. I promise. I don't consider myself an authority on SEO. I'll leave that to Matt Cutts, Aaron Wall, and the others. The point of my post today is to alert people of the pitfalls of do-it-yourself SEO. It can be done, but it's almost always more beneficial to have a professional do the work. I'll just list these out very simply for you to gander at:

  1. Content - Content problems fall into pretty much two categories: 1) Duplicate or boiler-plate content, something that came ready-made in that frankensteined template you call a website. 2) No content is almost as bad.
